The Physical Education and Sports Section, along with the Sports Council of Vishwakarma University, Pune, organized the “Sports for All” (An event for Children with Disabilities) on 13th December 2024 at Dnyangangotri Residential School, Dhayari, dedicated to fostering participation in sports and promoting inclusivity among children with disabilities.
The event featured a variety of inclusive sports activities specifically designed to engage and inspire the children, encouraging teamwork and boosting their confidenceSports uniforms were also donated to the participants, underscoring the university's commitment to inclusivity and its encouragement of sports for all. Over 50 children with disabilities enthusiastically participated in the event, enjoying activities tailored to their needs.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Prajakta Kapadnis, Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy, Vishwakarma University, Pune.
This initiative was widely praised for promoting physical activity and inclusiveness, leaving a positive and lasting impact on the children and their families.
The School of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Health Department of the Government of Maharashtra and Apulki Sanstha, Pune, celebrated World Immunization Day through a series of impactful events aimed at raising awareness about immunization. These activities, held in November 2024, effectively combined education, creativity, and community service. The event was convened by Dr. S. Sunitha and coordinated by Prof. Kirti Deshpande.
Quiz Competition and Video-Making Competition held on 15th November 2024
The celebration began on the 15th of November with two engaging competitions organized at the School of Pharmacy. These activities were designed to encourage students to explore the subject of immunization and creatively express their understanding.
Quiz Competition: The quiz competition tested and expanded participants' knowledge of immunization, vaccine development, and public health policies. The event served as both an educational opportunity and a platform for fostering teamwork and healthy competition among students.
Video-Making Competition: The video-making competition allowed students to creatively convey the importance of immunization. Participants submitted impactful videos focusing on themes such as vaccine awareness, myths versus facts, and the role of immunization in disease eradication. Submissions were evaluated based on content accuracy, creativity, and the strength of their message. The best videos were showcased on the institution’s social media platforms, extending their reach to a wider audience.
Vaccination Drive on 27th November 2024
A large-scale vaccination drive was organized on the 27th of November in collaboration with Health Department of the Government of Maharashtra, ‘Apulki Sanstha Pune’ and Sun Medico at Sun City Road, Pune from 10:30 am onwards. This initiative aimed to increase vaccination coverage and educate the community about the benefits of immunization.
Role of Student Volunteers: Students of second year D.Pharmacy actively participated as volunteers during the vaccination drive. They assisted healthcare professionals, managed logistics, and educated the public about immunization's significance. This experience provided students with valuable practical exposure to public health initiatives and an opportunity to serve their community. Many students expressed pride and fulfillment in contributing to such a noble cause, emphasizing the drive’s role in bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
Conclusion: The events effectively combined education, creativity, and community service to emphasize the vital role of immunization in public health. These initiatives highlighted the crucial role of educational institutions and community organizations in promoting public health and fostering social responsibility among students. This collaborative celebration not only honored the importance of World Immunization Day but also demonstrated the power of collective efforts in driving positive change.
The Department of Engineering Sciences from faculty of Science and technology at Vishwakarma University organized the Capstone Project poster Exhibition for First-Year B.Tech students on 6th December 2024. Over 400 students from Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AIDS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) branches participated in this exciting event.
The exhibition provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their group projects as posters, highlighting their innovative ideas and receiving valuable feedback from faculty members. Faculty judges meticulously evaluated the projects based on originality, clarity, methodology, and potential impact, ensuring a fair and comprehensive assessment.
Students explored a wide range of research topics, reflecting their interdisciplinary approach, analytical skills, creativity, and depth of knowledge. From cutting-edge technological solutions to practical applications, the projects underscored the dedication and intellectual curiosity of the participants.
The Capstone Exhibition 2024 was a resounding success, fostering innovation and collaborative learning among first-year engineering students while celebrating their pioneering efforts in research and development.

Dr. Anand Kolharkar Founder, Opine Group, facilitate an insightful session for our students at Vishwakarma University, Pune. His deep expertise in Business Intelligence and Analytics provided us with valuable perspectives on the transformative power of data in driving business growth. The takeaways on customer behavior analysis, the importance of structured methodologies, and the critical role of technology as an enabler were especially impactful.
Students also showed enthusiasm and engagement in lecture.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect theory with practice and gain firsthand knowledge from industry leaders.
