Introduction:

The PG Interior spaces students of Vishwakarma University undertook an enriching exploration of set design by visiting ND Studios. This visit provided them with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the art of creating immersive environments, blending aesthetics with functionality. Organized with the aim of honing their creative thinking and observational skills, the students learned about various elements of set design, such as scale, materials, textures, and lighting, which play a crucial role in bringing cinematic and theatrical visions to life.

Objectives:

1. Observe the behind the scenes of set design
2. Observe the materials, props and techniques in creating life size sets.

Activities:

Upon arrival, students were initially guided to observe the various sets of Bollywood movies and materials present on-site. They carefully analysed the different components of the materials available.

The students carried out an in-depth study on set creation, exploring how to bring visual concepts to life and the use of various props and elements in set design.

The Engineer's Day event at Vishwakarma University was a grand celebration held on 13th September 2024. The day began with an Inauguration Ceremony in the university's auditorium at 10:30 AM, attended by our esteemed Chief Guests:

Treasure Hunt & Fun games

After the inauguration, the crowd eagerly moved to Building 2 for the much-anticipated Treasure Hunt, which kicked off right after the ceremony. Both students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the hunt, which spanned across the entire campus. The excitement was palpable as participants raced to find the hidden treasures, navigating clues and challenges along the way.

At the conclusion of the Treasure Hunt at 1:20 PM, the winners were announced, and they were greeted with applause and prizes. 

Simultaneously, we also hosted a Quick Games Room in Room 2001, featuring engaging puzzles and activities to test participants’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Shark Tank Event

Following the Treasure Hunt, we resumed activities with the Shark Tank event at 1:30 PM, held in Room 2001. Here, students presented their innovative projects and business ideas, demonstrating their creativity and technical prowess. The audience was left in awe by the variety of ingenious ideas, and the best projects were rewarded with prizes during the prize distribution ceremony.

On September 5, 2024, the Faculty of Science and Technology celebrated Teachers' Day in Classroom 2001A, organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the Department of Computer Engineering. The event, held from 2:15 PM to 5:15 PM, aimed to honor and appreciate the dedication of our educators. Highlights included moving speeches and creative student performances that showcased the students' deep affection for their teachers. Each educator was presented with thoughtful gifts, making the occasion truly special. The celebration was a resounding success, offering a meaningful and enjoyable experience while reinforcing teachers' crucial role in shaping the future and garnering widespread community support and appreciation.

Department of AI, Science and Technology, Vishwakarma University, Pune

On the 12th of August, 2024, the Department of Artificial Intelligence organized the highly anticipated AI Appreciation Day. This grand event, held at the VU Auditorium in Building No. 2, was designed to celebrate the tremendous strides made in the field of Artificial Intelligence and to provide a platform for students to showcase their innovative talents. This event encompassed two competitions: CodeCraftAI and Generative AI, followed by a guest session on “latest trends in AI” by Mr. Shashank Deshmukh, Senior Business Consultant, Enterprise Solutions, TCS. In total, 35 teams had registered for the competitions. There were three winners announced for each competition. They were awarded trophies and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances. AI Appreciation Day was not only a celebration of the advancements in AI but also a platform that nurtured intellectual and academic growth.
