Event Title : One Week Short-Term Training Programme (STTP) on Data Analytics
Day, Date : Monday, 11th November 2024 - Friday, 15th November, 2024
The One-Week Short-Term Training Programme (STTP) on Data Analytics, organised by the department of Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with CTL, Vishwakarma University, offered a comprehensive exploration of key tools and techniques in the field, led by expert resource persons. Each day focused on a specific topic, blending theory with hands-on practice.
Day 1: Data Analytics Fundamentals
Prof. Kanchan Katake introduced the basics of data analytics using Python. The session began with an interactive quiz, followed by practical exercises on data cleaning, visualization, and creating plots like line and bar charts. Real-world applications in marketing, healthcare, and finance highlighted the relevance of these skills.
Day 2: Power BI
Prof. Prajakta Dhamdhere guided participants through Power BI, a versatile tool for data visualization and business intelligence. Attendees imported datasets, created visualizations such as pie charts and bar graphs, and built interactive dashboards, gaining confidence in using Power BI for analytics.
Day 3: Tableau
Prof. Richa Agnihotri led an engaging session on Tableau, focusing on data preparation and visualization. Participants created heat maps, scatter plots, and interactive dashboards, gaining practical experience to apply Tableau in professional settings.
Day 4: Social and Mobile Analytics
Dr. Kavita Kumawat explored analytics for social media and mobile platforms, covering metrics like engagement rates and sentiment analysis. Real-world examples demonstrated how these insights drive decision-making in marketing and customer engagement.
Day 5: Unstructured Data Analytics
Prof. Jayendra Jadhav concluded the program with a deep dive into unstructured data, including text, images, and videos. Hands-on exercises in text mining and image recognition showcased applications in social media monitoring and medical imaging.
The STTP provided participants with a strong foundation in data analytics, equipping them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to excel in this rapidly evolving field.

The Faculty of Pharmacy has successfully conducted offline Induction Program on 21st November 2024 in Building Number 2 in class 2210.
The induction program aims to ensure that new students are well-prepared, informed, and integrated into the Pharmacy department, setting a strong foundation for their academic and professional journey.
Main objectives are
The orientation program is designed to introduce new students to the academic environment, institutional resources, and community culture. Dr.Sunitha Sampathi mam, Dean of Pharmacy and Dr. Swati Mutha mam Head of Department - Pharmaceutics extended a warm welcome to the participants. Program commenced with lamp lightening. Dr Sunitha mam addressed the gatherings and highlighted the importance of the orientation and the role it plays in setting the foundation for the students' future academic endeavours. Dr Swati Mutha outlined the academic structure, including core subjects, electives, and specializations. He also informed about various academic support services, such as tutoring and mentoring programs.
Dr Sabeena Sayad briefed the students regarding University, Organisational structure, key facilities, different cells and resources available to support their academic and personal needs
Participants were familiarized with the Virtual Online Learning Platform (VOLP) and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system by Prof. Jisha Joseph. These tools are vital for managing academic and administrative tasks. Dr. Dipali Talale discussed the exam patterns and assessment methods in line with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) guideline
Esteemed faculty members introduced themselves with their expertise in their respective subjects.
Introduction to Student Welfare and Anti-Ragging Cell by Prof. Vaibhav Thakre, he introduced the Student Welfare and Anti-Ragging Cell, outlining the support mechanisms in place to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment. Dr. Om Bagade presented the Research and Development Cell, discussing the opportunities for students to engage in research activities and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their field.
The orientation program will conclude with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Amrita Thakur, expressing gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organizers.
Participants were taken on a guided tour of the department. They were shown key facilities like laboratories, classrooms, and common areas, helping them become familiar with their new environment.
