BY:- Manashakti Research Centre
The guest session was conducted on Friday, 24th November 2023, by Mr Sukrut Hukkerikar from Manashakti Research Centre based in Lonavala, the research centre is known for its unique and creative ways for achieving peace and balance in life. The topic of the session was “Tension-Free Life” and “Understanding Myself & My Stress”, both the topics chosen by the research centre for the session were relevant to the students making the session interactive and proactive.
The speaker started the session by giving a brief introduction about the Manashakti Research Centre, its working, the facilities it provides, their research findings and research areas and how they are a non-profit organization that does not take up any money in the form of donations or charity but fund the organization by the activities that they conduct by themselves in the centre. The session then progressed with some common engagements and a brief of what the session had in store for the students. The session entailed with Mr Sukrut asking the students about the different types of stressors that are present in their lives like educational stress, the prevailing of exams, their relationships be it romantic or platonic or just family, financial stress etc. He then discussed how different people deal with this stress and then showed the students how different emotions were processed by the different parts of the brain and taught them the concepts of brain waves and the different parts of the brain. As our smart speaker started to see the students try hard to focus on the complex topic of the brain and its functions, he immediately indulged them in activities that evoked them to stay woke and pay attention. The students learned to check their pulses and saw how their pulses calmed and reduced after they meditated and calmed down. They were introduced to the concept of their brain being divided into two halves and how one half was more dominant than the other. The students were fascinated to discover that there were activities that could show them which half of their brain was more dominant and what it meant. In the end the speaker concluded the session by introducing the students to the different books and activities that the center provides and how they could benefit from them.
In all the session conducted was incredibly wholesome and insightful for the students and they would without missing a beat want to visit the research centre themselves and not only learn and explore more but volunteer for the good cause as well.
Anytime, Any day.
