Overview

The Post Graduate Diploma in Electric Vehicle Technology and Smart Mobility is a one-year program designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of electric vehicle technology, equipping students with in-demand technical skills and practical knowledge. The Post Graduate Diploma in Electric Vehicles is a two-semester (One-year) Learning Programme designed for professionals, who are aspiring for rapid career progression in the high-growth areas of Electric vehicle design and energy management techniques for vehicles, EV regulations, smart mobility, etc., and other relevant domains and wish to stand out in highly competitive workplaces by acquiring prestigious Post Graduate diploma qualification from a premier institution. The automobile industry and its supplier base are gearing up for an increased adoption of Electric Vehicles to meet stricter emission standards and carbon footprints. This paradigm shift is driving large-scale reskilling of the existing workforce towards electric vehicle technology.


Graduates of this program will:

  • Understand the fundamentals of electric vehicle technology, including components such as batteries, electric motors, power electronics, and control systems.
  • The Programme gives state-of-the-art exposure for Vehicle dynamics & Transmission, Energy Management Techniques for vehicles 
  • Develop skills in electric vehicle system design, modeling, and simulation using industry-standard software tools to optimize performance, efficiency, and range.
  • Analyze the various types of electric vehicle architectures, including Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs), along with their advantages and limitations.
  • Gain insights into the environmental impact of electric vehicles compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles, including lifecycle analysis, emissions reduction, and sustainable mobility solutions.

Educational Qualification:

To apply for the Post Graduate Diploma in Electric Vehicle Technology and Smart Mobility, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related disciplines from a recognized university.
  • A minimum aggregate of 50% marks or equivalent grade is required (45% for candidates from Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes).

  • 10th Examination Mark Sheet / Passing Certificate.
  • 12th Examination / Equivalent Diploma Mark Sheet / Passing Certificate.
  • Graduation Mark Sheet (if applicable).
  • Graduation Passing Certificate (if applicable).
  • Domicile Certificate / Birth Certificate / School Leaving Certificate (anyone).
  • Nationality Certificate / Birth Certificate / Passport (anyone).
  • Entrance Test Score card (if applicable).
  • Two Latest Passport Size Photographs.
  • Transfer / Leaving Certificate from previous college - as and when available.
  • Migration Certificate (if applicable) - as and when available.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • PAN Card (if available).
  • Gap Certificate (if applicable)
  • Scanned Copy of Passport Size Photograph for I-Card and other documentation.

  • Fees: ₹3,00,000/- (May be paid in two installments)

Last date of submitting all / pending documents: 31st August 2024



If admission (provisional / confirmed) is cancelled before 31st October 2025, then Rs. 1000/- will be deducted and the balance amount will be refunded.

If admission (provisional / confirmed) is cancelled after 31st October 2025, then no paid fees will be refunded.

Note: Students / Candidate is expected to be in touch with Counselling and Admissions Office, VU, to seek update on last date of admission.

If refund is applicable, then the applicable amount (refund) will be disbursed/ credited to the candidate’s/ parent’s bank A/c through RTGS/NEFT, as per A/c details indicated by the candidate within 15 working days from the date of cancellation of admission.

Separate accommodation and food facility for Boys and Girls on a first come first serve basis.

  • Hostel Charges: Rs 1,05,000/-
