The Faculty of Computer Engineering, Vishwakarma University, actively participated in the Ganpati Immersion Camp organized by the Pune Municipal Corporation on 6th September 2025. The professors from the department volunteered their time and efforts by engaging in shramdaan (voluntary physical contribution) during the immersion process.
This collective effort was aimed at supporting a cleaner, safer, and environmentally sustainable Ganesh festival. Faculty members worked in coordination with the PMC staff and local volunteers to ensure smooth conduct of the immersion process, while also spreading awareness about eco-friendly celebrations.
The participation of the Faculty of Computer Engineering, Vishwakarma University, in the Ganpati Immersion Camp was a successful community service initiative. The faculty’s involvement not only supported Pune Municipal Corporation’s efforts but also reinforced the university’s vision of contributing towards sustainable development and community engagement.
The School of Pharmacy, Vishwakarma University had the celebration of National Girl Child Day at Vishwakarma Vidyalaya, Bibewadi with the collaboration with Legal Aid Clinic for the 8th, 9th, and 11th (Science and Commerce) girl’s students. The celebration was coordinated by Prof. Dipali Talele and Prof. Yogita Shinde on 20th Februray 2024, aimed to provide the knowledge about the inequalities faced by a girl child in Indian society and rights of a girl child and addresses issues like child marriage, discrimination, and violence against girls in the form of skit. Later it was followed by the guidance session on menstruation health, good hygiene practices to be exercised and the importance of healthy lifestyle. All students were given the guidance of importance of laws which are necessary to know regarding the rights in the society. The session was followed by the health check up camp where weight, height, BMI was checked, and necessary advice was given to be physically fit. In this activity, total one hundred seventy-two students plus 10 faculties, health check was performed. The camp concluded with the distribution of pens and Frooti drinks. The 11th science girl’s students had the tour of School of Pharmacy which was guided by the Prof. Dipali Talele, Prof Yogita Shinde, Vandana Miss, Prof. Sonali Manwatkar, Prof. Poonam Taru. During the tour, they visited laboratories for Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology, as well as the machine room. The Dean had also addressed them regarding the importance of college education and maintaining good health.
The School of Pharmacy, Vishwakarma University, Pune, organized a Guest Lecture on “Scientific Writing and Medical Communication in the Domain of Health Economics” on 29th August 2025.
We were privileged to host Dr. Amit D. Kandhare, Principal Scientific Writer – Health Economics and Value Assessment, Sanofi Healthcare India, as the Resource Person. With his extensive expertise in scientific communication, health economics, and medical writing, Dr. Kandhare delivered an engaging and insightful session on the evolving role of scientific writing, evidence-based communication, and real-world applications in healthcare.
The lecture offered participants valuable guidance on best practices, publication ethics, and the significance of effective medical communication in health economics, enriching the academic discourse and inspiring young researchers.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sabeena Syed, under the guidance and support of our Dean, Prof. Sunitha Sampathi.
The School of Pharmacy expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. Kandhare for his enlightening session and valuable contribution to academic excellence.
Vishwakarma University, Pune celebrated National Sports Day 2025 with a vibrant three-day series of events that combined expert insights, competitive sports, wellness activities, and community engagement. The celebration, held in honor of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, aimed to promote sportsmanship, fitness, and holistic well-being among students and faculty.
On 29th August 2025, the program commenced with an Expert Talk by Mr. Lalit Nahata, FIBA-certified Basketball Coach & Sports Administrator. Mr. Nahata shared his rich experience in basketball and sports development, inspiring participants with his valuable insights. Following the session, 3x3 Basketball Matches were inaugurated by Mr. Nahata. Around 20 men’s and women’s teams competed with enthusiasm and team spirit. Alongside, Chess competitions for men and women engaged students in intellectual and strategic play.
On 30th August 2025, a rejuvenating Yoga Session was conducted by Mrs. Sunita Chede, Yoga Practitioner. The session emphasized both physical and mental well-being and witnessed active participation from around 50 students and faculty members.
On 31st August 2025, the celebrations concluded with “Sunday on Cycle”, an activity that promoted sustainable fitness and an eco-friendly lifestyle. Students and faculty joined the initiative with great enthusiasm, reflecting the growing commitment to active and healthy living.
Over the course of three days, more than 300 participants took part across various events, underscoring the importance of sports, wellness, and active living within the university community.
The event was successfully organized by the Physical Education & Sports Section in collaboration with the Student Council of Vishwakarma University, under the able coordination of Prof. Arun Suryawanshi, Prof. Jayesh Baldota, and Prof. Prajakta Kapadnis.

On 7th August 2025, the Yuva Tourism Club of the Department of Travel and Tourism at Vishwakarma University, in association with the Department of Journalism and Media Communication (JMC), organized an insightful seminar on “Nature and Wildlife Tourism in India.” The event took place at the JMC Studio, Building 3, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and brought together students from Semesters III, V, and VII for an engaging learning experience.
The seminar was led by Mr. Rajeev Pandit, Founder-Director of Jeevidha, Pune, a highly respected expert in the fields of wildlife, ecology, and geology. Known for his deep passion for environmental conservation, Mr. Pandit aimed to inspire young minds to appreciate India’s rich biodiversity and understand the significance of preserving it through sustainable tourism practices.
The session served as a platform to bridge classroom learning with real-world experiences,encouraging students to think critically about the impact of tourism on nature and wildlife. Rajiv S. On Thursday, 7th August 2025, the Yuva Tourism Club of the Department of Travel and Tourism, in collaboration with the Department of Journalism and Media Communication (JMC) at Vishwakarma University, organized a seminar titled “Nature and Wildlife Tourism in India.” The session was held at the JMC Studio in Building 3, from 11:35 AM to 1:15 pm, and was attended by students from Semesters III, V, and VII, ensuring active participation from across the department.
The seminar was conducted by Mr. Rajeev Pandit, Founder-Director of Jeevidha, Pune, and a renowned figure in the fields of wildlife, ecology, and geology. Known for his deep knowledge and hands-on experience, Mr. Pandit brought a wealth of insights to the discussion. Right from the start, his approachable manner and engaging style captured the attention of the audience.
He began by explaining the concept of wildlife tourism in the Indian context, describing it as an essential tool not only for promoting travel but also for spreading awareness about the country’s rich biodiversity. Through real-life examples and anecdotes from his professional journey, he painted a vivid picture of India’s natural treasures — from the dense forests of Central India to the high-altitude wildlife of the Himalayas.
One of the key points he addressed was the balance between tourism and conservation. He emphasized that tourism, when planned responsibly, can contribute significantly to protecting endangered species and preserving natural habitats. However, he also warned against the negative impacts of over-tourism, habitat disruption, and irresponsible practices by visitors. This created a thought-provoking moment for students, as it linked their academic knowledge to real-world challenges. Mr. Pandit also spoke about the role of youth in conservation. He encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly travel habits, support community-based tourism initiatives, and participate in conservation projects. His words carried both urgency and hope, leaving the audience with a sense of personal responsibility towards the environment.
The seminar concluded with a lively Q&A session, where students asked questions ranging from career opportunities in wildlife tourism to the role of technology in conservation efforts. Mr. Pandit patiently addressed each query, providing practical advice and sharing stories that were both educational and inspiring

Minimal ratings in the lower categories indicate only a small portion of the audience felt the content was average or lacked depth, which could be addressed in future iterations by tailoring topics to varying knowledge levels.
4.How interested will you be to attend any events organized by the department pf travel and tourism?
There was a strong willingness among attendees to participate in future events organized by the Department of Travel and Tourism, with many Strongly Agreeing or agreeing to attend again. This positive response signals that the event left a lasting impression and built trust in the department’s ability to host meaningful activities. The presence of a few Neutral or lower responses suggests that ensuring variety and novelty in future topics could help maintain high interest levels.
The VIshwakarma University, Pune, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event began in the morning with the gathering of faculty members, students, and staff on the university campus.
The highlight of the ceremony was the flag hoisting by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Marathe, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. In his address, Dr. Marathe emphasized the importance of unity, responsibility, and innovation in nation-building. He also encouraged students to contribute positively to society and uphold the values of freedom and democracy.

World Water Day Celebration with Energy Literacy Training Program consist of Certification completion and Quiz competition
Objective of the Event:
Energy Literacy Training aims to make people aware of energy generation and consumption to understand its related dynamics and impact on climate change.
Dr. Chetan Sing Solanki, an instructor of the course, is professor at Indian institute of technology Bombay.
The training consists of 12 modules, each module with a duration of about 10-15 minutes. The total duration of the training would be about 2 to 3 hours.
Each module would consist of 4’Es-
1. Establish the concept regarding the module
2. Example to get the sense of the concept
3. Exercise (2 to 3 min long) for people to think and write related to their understanding
4. Exam with 5 multiple choice questions (2 to 3 min long).
Passing percentage for each exam is 40% and each module is a prerequisite to pass.
At the end of the training session, the participants can take their pledge about what actions they will take to avoid wastage, how they will use energy efficiently, and how they will generate solar energy (if they wish to).

Department of Artificial Intelligence
On Friday, April 4, 2025, from 3:00 PM onwards, the Faculty of Science and Technology at Vishwakarma University, Pune successfully held the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) for the second semester of the 2024-25 academic year. The purpose of the meeting was to enhance collaboration between parents, faculty, and students to promote student's overall development and academic achievement. The Department of Artificial Intelligence convened a session in Room 2407, located on the fourth floor of the second building. The meeting was marked by enthusiastic participation from parents of all three programs students across all disciplines.
Meet Overview
The program commenced at 3:00 PM, with a cordial welcome extended to the parents by the Dean of Science and Technology, Dr. K.R. Patil. This was followed by an address from Mr. Kiran Pawar, the Deputy Training and Placement Officer who underscored the significance of early engagement with industry and the role of placements in the engineering education journey. Prof. Kaustubh Utpat from Student Facilitation center and Dr. Omvir Gautam have interacted on International Relations. He cleared doubt of parents about queries regarding how the Programme operates, the eligibility criteria, and how credits earned at partner institutions abroad are transferred and recognized.
At 3:30 PM, parents were directed to their designated departmental rooms.
The Head of the Department, Dr. Pavitha Nooji addressed the assembly, offering a comprehensive overview of: the academic structure of all the three programs under Department of AI (B. Tech. (AI & DS), B. Tech. (CSE-AI), B. Tech. (CSE-AI&ML)).
The HoD encouraged parents to actively support these initiatives and engage with the department for the holistic development of students, ensuring they are well-prepared for academic success and future career opportunities.
Parent-Faculty Interaction
Following a short tea break at 3:50 PM, parents reconvened at 4:00 PM. The main portion of the session, lasting from 4:05 PM to 5:00 PM, was allocated to individual discussions between parents, class teachers, and faculty members. During these discussions, parents expressed their appreciation for the academic environment and student-focused approach implemented by Vishwakarma University. They also provided constructive feedback on the curriculum delivery, mentorship, and extracurricular activities. The faculty members addressed issues concerning academic performance, attendance, and overall student well-being. The importance of regular parental involvement and communication with faculty to support student's academic progress has been emphasized.
In conclusion, the Parent-Teacher Meet for the Department of Artificial Intelligence provided a valuable opportunity for open dialogue between parents and faculty members. It has reinforced the university’s commitment to maximizing human potential through a collaborative approach.
The department extends its sincere appreciation to all parents for their active involvement and valuable contribution. We anticipate ongoing collaboration to ensure the comprehensive development of the students.
