Introduction
The Guest Lecture Series, organised on the occasion of Heritage Day, was held to raise awareness and deepen understanding of the evolving tourism landscape. The event was conceptualised as an educational guest lecture series aimed at integrating theoretical learning with practical insights from the tourism industry. Instead of celebrating
Heritage Day conventionally, the focus was on understanding how heritage tourism is evolving in the modern digital age.
The theme “Future of Tourism: Culture, Technology & Transformation” highlighted three
important dimensions: Culture, which focuses on preserving heritage and traditions;Technology, which includes the use of AI, digital platforms, and smart tourism tools; and Transformation, which reflects changing trends, sustainable practices, and global shifts in tourism.

The event recorded a good level of participation, though there is scope to increase overall reach. Students were actively engaged; there is a need to improve attendance and encourage more consistent feedback and participation. The overall engagement level was generally high but not consistent across all sessions. Around 85–90% of participants expressed interest in attending similar events in the future, reflecting a positive response. Sessions like LinkedIn Marketing were particularly interactive and engaging. The event successfully met its objectives, with 70–80% of participants reporting that they gained new knowledge. Each session provided valuable insights and clear learning outcomes. The high interest in future events further confirms that the primary goal of enhancing student knowledge and industry understanding was effectively achieved. Overall, the event can be considered largely successful.
