Vishwakarma University’s VIRAASAT gives promising fashion prodigies.
The fashion quotient of Pune surely went a notch higher on Sunday, 2nd October 2022 at Hyatt Pune with the successful conclusion of Viraasat, a first of its kind annual Fashion Show put together by the students of Vishwakarma University’s Fashion Design Department, which was graced by the Bollywood celebrity Ms. Amisha Patel as the guest of honour, Vice-president of Vishwakarma University Prof. (Dr.) Wasudeo Gade, Dean Art and Design Ar. Nalini Naik Nimbalkar.
Viraasat is inspired by the best of the traditions of Indian textiles through a riveting line-up of contemporary designs all crafted and curated by the budding designers of Vishwakarma University. The collection designed by the students, presented in six groups were based on collection namely –"Abeille- The Honeybee”, “Padma - The lotus”, “Reet- Jharokhas - The window for wings”, "Serene- Shining moon”, “Arc en ciel ” and “Colorism”.The Reet theme set the tone for the evening followed by serene based on the serenity of the moon, the student models swayed and sashayed with captivating panache impressing the guests and audience alike.
The show at Hyatt, Pune turned out to be the perfect venue for the talented budding designers to showcase some innovative and inspiring designer wear, all crafted and curated by them. The two-hour fashion extravaganza got off to a glittering start and lived beyond its expectations. Staying true to the schedule, the inauguration ceremony was graced by the renowned Actress Amisha Patel as the chief guest.
The students are well groomed and guided by Prof. Reena Pandey, Head of the Department, and her faculty colleagues Prof. Nisha Kandekar, Prof. Vaishali Wagh. The University leadership and faculty encouraged and lauded the efforts put together by the Fashion Design students. The show was attended by industry partners, well-known designers from the Fashion Houses & Fashion Industry, and parents of the students.
Viraasat 2022 by Vishwakarma University has definitely made a mark on the Pune fashion scene creating a benchmark of sorts.
The Department of Law organized a 'One Day National E-Seminar on Blockchain Technology and Smart Contracts' in the field of Law on 30th September 2022. This National Seminar was organized with the objective to promote the understanding of the fundamentals of Blockchain Technology (BCT) and provide attendees with educational sessions. Prof. Siddhi Singh, faculty coordinator, and Prof. Deepshikha Sharma, faculty co-coordinator facilitated the Seminar and around 300 Participants from all over India registered for this event.
The exhibition of Students aimed to display & acknowledge students accomplishments in Architecture, Animation, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product Design & UIUX Design. Students have Showcased their academic work in this. This exhibit demonstrated students understanding of various artistic concepts in two- and three-dimensional design and drawing and the development of artistic skills through classroom instructions.
The Inauguration of Exhibition done on 15th September with the auspicious hands of Renowned Architect Mr. Chandrashekhar Wyawahare, Vice chancellor Dr. Siddharth Jabade, Vice President Dr. Wasudev Gade, Dean Prof. Nalini Naik Nimbalkar & Dignitaries from Design Industry. It was open for all on 15th ,16th & 17th September 2022.
Students of various creative fields together portrayed the Creative quirky products, Functional Designs, Furniture design, Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories, Designer costumes, Clay Animation, Sketching, Doodling, Illustrations, Folk & Tribal arts etc. After pandemic it was an opportunity for students for interactions, buzzing conversations, and immense openings.
One of the significant advantages of the exhibition was to create awareness of a range of profiles and products. The platform that it creates helped in the process of networking and future possibilities. Exhibition added Information to students interested in learning more about educational and career opportunities in the Art & Design space.
The Moot Court Committee of the Department of Law, Vishwakarma University, Pune successfully conducted its First Intra Moot Court Competition on 29th September 2022. Students of the BBA-LLB program participated and exuberantly argued on the issue "Right to Religion vs. Right to Life" Prof. Divyanshu Priyadarshi, Faculty Coordinator of the Moot Court Committee excellently mentored the students about advocacy skills, courtroom manners, and so on. The team of Ms. Aditi Sharma and Ms. Iqra Zainab (BBA-LLB, 4th Year) won the Moot Court Competition.
VU Legal Aid Clinic with the help of the VU NSS Unit organized a Village Visit, Streetplay, Jan Sunwai, and Village Survey in Mordari village on 19th and 20th September 2022. 14 students of the BBA-LLB program along with Prof Divyanshu Priyadarshi and Prof. Apurva Bhilare participated in the said programme. The students performed street play showcasing the importance of education, the right to information, and the rights of the elderly. The team sensitized the villagers about the DISHA Scheme of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India. (Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice).
Department of Management, Vishwakarma University BBA studetns with two faculty member Mr. Niranjan Kulkarni and Mrs. Ashwini Sonawane had an industrial visit to the factory of WS Bakers on 23/08/2022. A warm welcome at the gates followed by protocalls were informed to students. A representative received us at the entrance and gave a brief introduction about the factory. Then students assembled in a hall, then the representative showed the process of how the cake is baked and even gave a live demonstration of the icing with beautiful décor.
Later on, students were divided into 3 groups of 10 students in each. They took us around from one section to the next and explained the process involved in baking cakes, buns and toast. The workers were doing the work concentrated. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves. He showed us how the chocolate decoration is made. They even make customize cake based on order.
This visit was concluded with delicious lunch & cutting a cake at the end. Students were able to see and experience the food industry standards, processes, practices. The concept of assembly line, use of technology in food industry, division of work, efficiency and effectiveness were witnessed by students.
