Report on Extension Activity At Suryoday Old age home 24-25

School of Pharmacy, Vishwakarma University, Pune-411048.

As part of its social responsibility and in alignment with SDG 3 – “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages” – Vishwakarma School of Pharmacy (D. Pharmacy) organized an extension activity at Suryoday Old Age Home, Dhayari, on 14th August 2024.
The event was coordinated by Prof Mrunalini H Kulkarni.The activity focused on promoting elderly health through awareness, practical demonstrations, and personal interaction. Pharmacy students, under faculty supervision, conducted interactive sessions covering medication adherence, safe use of prescriptions, side effects, and the importance of regular check-ups. Residents’ queries were addressed individually.
To strengthen preparedness for minor injuries, First Aid Kits were distributed, and students demonstrated the correct usage of bandages, antiseptics, cotton, and other essentials, along with guidance on when to seek medical help.

The program successfully promoted both physical and mental well-being of the residents while sensitizing students towards healthcare needs of the elderly.
