7. Brief:
The "Lens of Democracy" program aimed to enhance electoral literacy among students. The event began with an interactive discussion with Asst. Prof. Shekhar Sir (our esteemed Guest/resource person) , who provided valuable insights into the Indian Election Process, its significance, and the importance of responsible voting.
To further engage students, a fun and interactive quiz was conducted. The "Passing the Parcel" game format added an element of excitement, where students had to answer questions related to the electoral process and democracy. This interactive approach effectively assessed student understanding and fostered a deeper appreciation for the democratic system. We then began with the screening of the film "Newton," which poignantly depicts the challenges faced in conducting free and fair elections in remote areas.
Overall, the "Lens of Democracy" program proved to be a successful endeavour in raising awareness about the importance of electoral participation and promoting responsible citizenship among the student community.
