The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2017. The first programme to be introduced was B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 30. From beginning to till date, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum. Mechanical engineering has a long tradition of excellence in education with an effective hands-on for teaching and learning.
The department has good infrastructure and all laboratories are well equipped with the all experimental setup with latest software and hardware. We have a good track record of internship and job placements. Our students are sent for a mandatory internship during the Final Year. Some deserving students are also sent for part time internship during the third year along with their course work. Students focus on academics as well as co-curricular activities, they have established a Technical Club “Team Overdrive”. This club organizes expert lectures, programming contests and provides student with a platform for acquiring and disseminating software knowledge.
The University has an MOU with many industries under which department have many live projects currently going on. Many of our students got chance to work on live projects which helps them to make their academic strong.
The department has well qualified and experienced staff with expertise in various fields of research such as Vibration, Waste Water Treatment, Non-Conventional Machining, Thermal systems, Refrigeration, Cryogenics. Many of our faculties are members of different centers of excellence such as Unity Center of Excellence and Industry 4.0. They are also major contributors to other centers of excellence such as the Center for e-Learning, Design Thinking and Innovation. Our faculty members are also significant contributors to the University administration occupying roles such as Registrar, Dean Science & Technology, OSD in Administration. The overall goal of the department is to nurture students to make them industry ready as well as prepare them for goals such as higher education, entrepreneurship and research.
