The Department of Artificial Intelligence is a cutting-edge academic and research unit dedicated to advancing the field of AI through rigorous research, innovative applications, and comprehensive education programs. The department focuses on a wide array of AI subfields, including machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, computer vision, and data science. By fostering a collaborative environment, the department encourages interdisciplinary research that bridges gaps between AI and other fields such as healthcare, finance, and engineering.
Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and computing facilities, the Department of Artificial Intelligence offers students and researchers unparalleled opportunities to explore and develop new AI technologies. The curriculum is designed to provide a robust foundation in theoretical principles while emphasizing hands-on experience through projects, internships, and partnerships with industry leaders. Graduates from the department are well-prepared to tackle complex challenges in various sectors, driving innovation and contributing to the development of intelligent systems that can solve real-world problems.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence was established in 2023. The first program introduced was the B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, which originally started in the Department of Computer Engineering with an intake of 120 students in the academic year 2020-21. Subsequently, in the academic year 2023-24, two more programs were launched: B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence and B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, with intakes of 60 and 120 students, respectively.
The department is well-equipped to support these programs, featuring state-of-the-art laboratories with the latest software and hardware. We have a strong track record of job placements, and our students undertake mandatory internships during their final year. Additionally, deserving students are offered part-time internships during their third year alongside their coursework. Our students excel in both academics and co-curricular activities and have established the "Visionary Club." This club organizes expert lectures, programming contests, and provides a platform for acquiring and sharing software knowledge.
Our department boasts highly qualified and experienced faculty with expertise in various research fields, including Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Blockchain, and Cloud Computing. Faculty members lead and contribute significantly to centers of excellence such as the Research Center of Excellence for Health Informatics, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Center for Indian Knowledge System. They also play key roles in university administration centers like the Center of Women Empowerment, Alumni Cell, and Training and Placement.
