On May 25, 2024, Vishwakarma University's Faculty of Arts and Design organised a special art festival, Abhikalp, in the bustling centre of Pune's Seasons Mall. This was more than just an event; it was a vibrant celebration of talent and innovation, bringing together students and faculty from all fields under one roof.
SHOWCASING EXCELLENCE
Abhikalp 2024 intended to promote the academic achievements of students from various departments. The Department of Animation, Design, and Fashion showcased the best of its work, with 170 students present. From detailed animations to cutting-edge fashion creations, the display demonstrated the passion and creativity nurtured at Vishwakarma University.
Furthermore, selected works from the Faculty of Architecture and Journalism & Mass Communication, including intriguing architectural designs and insightful media studies projects, contributed diversity to the exhibition.
IMPRESSIVE PARTICIPATION AND ENGAGEMENT
The event gathered approximately 2500 attendees, including significant people such as Mr. Magar, owner of Magarpatta, and Mrs. Madhurima from CII Pune, highlighting its importance to the local creative community.
Among the highlights were the sale of artworks, including a notable painting by Gargi Kulkarni, and the distribution of over 1000 admissions brochures.
OPPORTUNITIES UNVEILED
Beyond the festival, Abhikalp 2024 offered several opportunities to students from multiple departments. Seasons Mall's General Manager proposed consultation projects, and students were presented with opportunities to apply their abilities in real-world settings, including prospective collaborations with industry specialists such as 'Kannu Ki Chai' and ‘Lakshya Digital’.
Parents expressed a strong interest in creativity programmes for children aged 8 to 14, while inquiries about student projects and artwork sales suggested interesting opportunities for future collaborations and business initiatives.
