The School of Pharmacy, Vishwakarma University conducted an extension activity to mark World Patient Safety Day, which is observed worldwide on 17th September. The 2025 WHO theme, “Safe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child”, was the focus of the program.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) S. Sunitha, Dean, School of Pharmacy, the convenor of the program. Faculty coordinators Prof. Kirti Deshpande and Prof. Prajakta Kapadnis accompanied the D. Pharm second-year students during their visit to Shrimati Kshibai Navle Hospital and Medical College, Narhe, Pune. With the cooperation of the nursing staff, students visited different hospital departments. They visited to ICU sections like ICCU, SICU, PICU and dermatology ward, venereology and leprosy ward, medicine and general ward etc.  In the paediatric section, they interacted with healthcare professionals and discussed child safety practices and patient care guidelines.

The activity effectively linked classroom learning with practical exposure, enriching the students’ knowledge of child care and patient safety.
