Overview- Vishwakarma University proudly hosted the Maker Lab on Wheels, an innovative initiative brought to campus through our exciting collaboration with Infosys Springboard. The event took place from April 3rd to April 9th, offering our first-year students a unique, hands-on learning experience designed to foster creativity, technical skills, and exposure to emerging technologies.

The Maker Lab on Wheels is a mobile innovation lab that brings cutting-edge tools and technology directly to students, enabling them to explore and experiment with concepts central to Industry 4.0—including automation, IoT, robotics, and more. Over the course of the week, students engaged in various interactive workshops and demonstrations, gaining practical insights that complement their academic curriculum.

This initiative marks a significant step in our commitment to experiential learning and industry-academia collaboration. We are sincerely grateful to Infosys Springboard for making this possible and for their continued dedication to empowering future innovators.

World Water Day

Speaker- Dr. Ravindra Utgikar (Vice President Project Sales), Mr. Ravindra Ulangawar (National Head of Water Management Buisness), Mr. Mukul Pendse from Wilo group and Mr. Shrikant Gabale (Managing Director – Graphias Solutions Pvt Ltd), Prof. Wasudeo Gade (Vice President Vishwakarma University),.

Overview : The primary objective was the statistics of water availability and its significance to find solutions to use it, was elaborated by Guest of Honor Ravindra Ulangwar.

The students of FY btech have demonstrated their projects completed from the subject of Introduction to Microcontroller Programming and based on sustainable use of water under the guidance of FY btech faculties. These projects are well appreciated by guests. 

The moderator Prof. Mrunmai Ranade has set the platform for Panel discussion with the members Mr. Ravindra Ulangwar, Mr. Shrikant Gabale, Prof. Umesh Patwardhan on the topic ‘Community involvement in Water conservation’. The competition based on Energy Literacy Training for SY Computer Engineering & AI students and Aqua Logic for FY students has provided the opportunity to undergo platforms like Energy Swaraj Foundation and Indiabiz. All the activities were about creating awareness about SDG 6,7,14 to sensitise students.

All winners and volunteers were felicitated to become motivation for others.

National Science Day -2025

Overview:


The day featured engaging activities including expert talks, a project exhibition, and multiple competitions. The project demonstration session provided a platform for students to present working models and prototypes addressing real-world challenges through advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, and Web Development.


  - Artificial Intelligence (AI): Teams designed AI-based solutions to tackle real-world issues such as predicting climate changes, optimizing energy use, and improving waste management. The goal was to create smarter, data-driven approaches to sustainability.
   - Internet of Things (IoT): Participants built smart systems using sensors and automation to improve daily life. Projects included smart farming tools, air quality monitors, and automated systems for efficient resource management. These solutions aimed to make cities and industries more eco-friendly.
   - Web Development: Teams developed web applications focused on sustainability, such as platforms for tracking environmental impact, online solutions for reducing waste, and tools to raise awareness about sustainable practices. The emphasis was on creating user-friendly and impactful digital solutions.  


Each track encouraged participants to collaborate, think critically, and innovate, providing hands-on experience with industry-relevant technologies while addressing some of the most pressing global sustainability issues. The hackathon not only fostered technical skill development but also instilled a sense of social responsibility in the participants.


Competitions such as Dangal, Maze Maverick, Hackathon, and Hackerrank tested participant's technical skills and problem-solving abilities, enhancing their practical learning experience.
A total of 38 teams participated across different tracks, with each team comprising four students. The industry guest appreciated the student's work and encouraged them to pursue their ideas further for future prospects. All winners and volunteers were felicitated to become motivation for others.

Induction for first year students

Overview-The Department of Engineering Science, in faculty of Science & Technology, Vishwakarma University, successfully organized a four-day online and offline Induction Program for First-Year BTech students from 8/08/2023 to 11/08/2023. The program aimed to introduce students to the university environment, key technologies, academic practices, and interdisciplinary learning methods.
Introduction to MATLAB- An introductory session on MATLAB, a key tool for engineers and scientists, emphasizing its importance in academic and industry settings. Handling the Challenges of Massive Storage of Data & Its Faster Computation using Big Data Pipelines-A technical session highlighting the importance of Big Data management and computation in the modern engineering world.
Various technical sessions on Computer Networking and Overriding Stereotypes depending on the group. Sessions on Use of Mathematics in Computers, Data Warehousing, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). An Introduction to Flutter, a modern app development toolkit, was conducted for all groups. A creative session on Doodling was introduced to encourage artistic thinking.
The Induction Program provided a comprehensive orientation to first-year students, blending technical knowledge, creativity, and essential soft skills. It effectively laid a strong foundation for students to embark on their engineering journey at Vishwakarma University.

Capstone Project Exhibition

On April 26, 2024, Vishwakarma University held its annual Capstone Exhibition, where students presented their research projects through posters. This event served as a platform for students to showcase their innovative work and receive feedback from faculty members, who evaluated the posters to determine the best projects. Students presented posters on various research topics, demonstrating their analytical skills, creativity, and depth of knowledge. The research topics covered numerous fields, showcasing the interdisciplinary nature of the student's work. Faculty members served as judges, evaluating each poster based on several criteria including originality, clarity, methodology, and potential impact. The rigorous evaluation process ensured a fair assessment of the student's research work.
The Capstone Exhibition 2024 at Vishwakarma University was a great success, highlighting the dedication and innovative spirit of the students. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to present their research, receive feedback, and engage with the academic community. The top posters were recognized for their outstanding contributions, setting a high standard for future research projects. Special thanks to the faculty members who served as judges, the organizing committee for coordinating the event, and all the students who participated with enthusiasm and commitment.

The Computer Science department has organized guest lecture on Cyber Security domain Ravi Shekharan General Manager - Cyber Intelligence at Vodafone Idea Limitedfacilitate an insightful session for our students at Vishwakarma University, Pune. His deep expertise in Cyber Security provided us with valuable perspectives and deeper understanding of a topic that is indispensable in the modern digital landscape.Students also showed enthusiasm and engagement in lecture.
The total 87 students have participated in this lecture. The guest lecturer interacted and explained different new horizons for SEIM, WAF, IPS, IDS topics with latest examples, so student found it interesting. Ravi sir guided on career paths in cyber intelligence in shaping the future of students. Dr. Madhuri Pant has organized the lecture.

Fieldvisit to Karla and Bhaja Caves

Objective: The Yuva Tourism Club, Department of Travel and Tourism, organized a field visit to Karla and Bhaja Caves to explore and learn about Indian heritage and Buddhist cave architecture. The objective of this visit was to provide students with a hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of India's rich cultural and architectural history.

Introduction:

The Karla and Bhaja Caves are ancient Buddhist rock-cut temples located in the state of Maharashtra, India. These caves date back to the 2nd century BCE and are renowned for their intricate carvings, sculptures, and architectural excellence. The visit aimed to educate students about the significance of these caves, their historical importance, and the architectural techniques employed in their construction.

Observations and Findings:

During the visit, students observed and noted the following:

1. Architectural Style: The Karla and Bhaja Caves showcase a unique blend of Indian and Buddhist architectural styles, characterized by intricate carvings, sculptures, and ornate facades.

2. Cave Layout: The caves are laid out in a specific pattern, with the chaitya (prayer hall) and vihara (monastery) being the central features.

3. Sculptures and Carvings: The caves are adorned with intricate sculptures and carvings depicting Buddhist mythology, gods, and goddesses.

4. Historical Significance: The Karla and Bhaja Caves are significant historical landmarks, providing valuable insights into the lives of ancient Indian Buddhists.

Conclusion:

The field visit to Karla and Bhaja Caves was a resounding success, providing students with a unique and enriching learning experience. The visit achieved its objective of educating students about Indian heritage and Buddhist cave architecture, and we look forward to organizing similar field visits in the future.
