Introduction

As per the directive of the Government of Maharashtra (Planning Department) regarding the Viksit Maharashtra 2047 initiative, all higher education institutions were instructed to ensure participation of students and faculty in the citizen survey conducted through the official WhatsApp chatbot. The objective of this initiative is to involve citizens in shaping the vision of a developed Maharashtra by the year 2047.

Steps Taken by the NSS Unit

1. The official survey link (WhatsApp chatbot) was circulated to all students and faculty of Vishwakarma University through NSS communication channels and WhatsApp groups.
2. A formal message with clear instructions was prepared and shared, guiding participants to send “Start Survey” to the chatbot and complete the questionnaire.
3. To maintain compliance records, a Google Form was created for students and faculty to upload screenshots of their completed survey submissions.
4. Multiple reminders were circulated to maximize participation within the given timeline.

Participation Status

• The survey link was widely circulated among students and faculty members of Vishwakarma University.
• As of 7th September 2025, 4 participants submitted proof of completion through the Google Form.
• While only 4 proofs were officially received, it is possible that more participants completed the survey without uploading screenshots.

Challenges Faced

• The survey coincided with a long weekend (5th–7th September), which limited opportunities for on-campus follow-up.
• As the survey was conducted entirely via WhatsApp, some participants may not have considered proof submission necessary after completing the chatbot survey.
• Despite reminders, compliance in terms of proof submission remained low.

Conclusion

The NSS Unit of Vishwakarma University ensured that the Viksit Maharashtra 2047 survey link reached the student and faculty community through formal communication and encouraged participation by providing clear instructions. Although the number of proof submissions received was limited, the outreach was extensive, and it is likely that more participants completed the survey informally.
