Industry visit to Mapro Pvt. Ltd.

On February 24th, 2024, students and faculty members from the Department of Travel and Tourism visited Mapro Pvt. Ltd. in Wai to understand how tourism products are designed and promoted. Additionally, they explored Menawani Ghat as an example of Film Tourism.

On February 10, 2024, members of the Department of Travel and Tourism, including both students and faculty, embarked on a journey to the Outbound Travel Mart at Jio Convention Center in BKC, Mumbai. During their visit, they extensively explored over 1000 kiosks representing various businesses in the travel and tourism industry. Through this experience, they gained valuable insights into the diverse operational activities associated with the Business to Business model.

National Tourism Day

To commemorate National Tourism Day on January 25, 2024, the Department of Travel and Tourism efficiently coordinated numerous events. Students and faculty members showcased India's diverse and vibrant culture by dressing in traditional attire representing different states.

 

 Activity Details:-

1) Promoting India’s Island Tourism

Yuva Tourism Club members from the Travel and Tourism Department have presented and conveyed information to their fellow university students regarding India's Island Tourism.

 





 

2) A photo booth designed to promote lesser-known destinations in India.

Students from the Travel and Tourism Department have created a photo booth and provided details about India's lesser-known destinations to promote the country's rich heritage.









 

3) Treasure Hunt

A treasure hunt was organized for department students, where they had to search for pieces representing various states hidden across the campus. These pieces were then used to form an Indian map. The team that successfully located the most states was declared the winner, and to motivate them, shopping coupons were awarded to participants from the winning team.

We are thrilled to announce the triumphant culmination of the VU-BU Research Internship Certificate distribution program, held on February 7, 2024, at 2:30 pm, under the auspices of the VU-BU Center of Excellence for Design Thinking and Innovation.

This landmark event marked the conclusion of an enriching journey for 53 dedicated students who embarked on this internship in July 2023, demonstrating their unwavering commitment and diligence throughout the rigorous program, which concluded in December 2023.

The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Michael Testani, Senior Director of Outreach and Engagement at Binghamton University, USA; Prof (Dr.) Siddharth Jabade, Vice Chancellor of Vishwakaram University; Prof. (Dr.) Kailas Patil, Director of the VU-BU Center of Excellence for Design Thinking and Innovation; alongside Dr. Yogesh Suryawanshi, Prof. Prashant S. Acharya, and Prof. Apurva Thosar.

The Department of Architecture at Vishwakarma University conducted a settlement study in RANJE village, near Pune, by its first-year students. Immersed in the village's traditional fabric, they explored its cultural essence, interacting closely with locals to grasp their daily lives and values. Documenting timber construction houses and delving into the history and significance of the famed Ranjeshwar Shiva Temple, students gained invaluable insights into traditional architecture's evolution and significance. This study serves as a vital educational tool, equipping budding architects with a profound understanding of traditional architectural principles and the cultural contexts that shape them, fostering appreciation and preservation of architectural heritage.
